Marisa Pahl is a Vancouver Artist who is creating a series of 100 watercolour paintings that are inspired by the environment by advocates she admires. She has showcased a variety of visionaries and their stories on her Instagram account. Included with the 2 inches X 2 inches watercolour is the advocate’s story and a live auction, where you can buy the original watercolour. The amazing thing about this project is we are able to share our stories and love for nature but also 50% of the proceeds go to Pacific Wild to support their work protecting the wildlife and wild spaces of Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest.
This opportunity aligned with Abeego on so many levels, we were so excited Toni was asked to share.
Toni's story: A meadow is my most loved wild space. My mom would take my sisters and I on mountain hikes. I couldn't wait for the moment we'd merge from the trees and venture across a sun soaked, flower filled meadow. We’d snack on the wild strawberries as my mom introduced us to beautiful plants around us. These walks instilled an appreciation for nature that I share with my daughter.
Toni's small daily action in support of the environment: Observing the magic of our natural surrounding with my daughter. Watching worms diggings in our garden, sprouts growing in a container, bees pollinating a flower or even just listening to the birds singing outside will have an everlasting influence on how she views her position within nature. We need to view ourselves as a part of nature so we are more encouraged to take care of it.
Please share below some of your favourite places and a small action you can take to support the environment.
We'd love to learn about some new hidden gems in this amazing world.
