We believe in change and change comes with awareness and transparency. We're launching a new series on the Keep Food Alive blog. Once a month we're answering one of our frequently asked questions and giving you the answers you've been looking for.
How do I wash Abeego?
Hand wash in COLD water with biodegradable dish soap for the longest lifespan. Hang to dry, or towel dry for immediate use. If unsoiled, (e.g. it’s been covering a bowl of salad) just rinse and reuse.
How do I store Abeego?
Once your Abeego is dry, store it in a clean, dry place, like a kitchen drawer until next time. You can roll your Abeego into tubes, fold them nicely, lay them flat, tuck them between cutting boards or put them back into rotation. The choice is yours.
How can I help make my Abeego last longer?
To give Abeego its longest life, keep it away from heat. Always wash in COLD water. Don’t over wash. Store in a cool, dry place and never use it in the microwave or oven. Be sure your dishes and containers have cooled before wrapping your bowls with Abeego.
More tips: Building the Abeego habit
- Wash your Abeego before the rest of your dishes, to ensure the water is COLD.
- Check the ingredient list of your dish soap. If alcohol is in the first 5 ingredients, it is too harsh for Abeego. Beeswax and tree resin are soluble in alcohol.
- Store your Abeego in the same drawer that you stored your plastic wrap in. This way, you’re using the same memory-patterns.
